New guidelines support use of ED drugs

Guidelines published by the American College of Physicians say that doctors should prescribe medications for men who suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED) unless the patient is on nitrate therapy. The type of oral phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) inhibitor used should be based on a patient's preference, the guidelines state. The advice is based on evidence that found men who received ED drugs experienced improved sexual satisfaction regardless of what condition caused their impotence.  Read full story >
