I was diagnosed with RA in 2008, and had things under reasonable control until recently when we moved from Wisconsin to California.
Trying to find a Pricmary Care Dr. and a Rheumatologist while living in a very remote community meant I was without my main medication (Orencia) for about 7 weeks.
If I thought I had RA under control, I found out that I was VERY mistaken!
I eventually was placed on Enbrel Sure Click and have improved, but no where near where I was prior to moving.
I would say the moral of this tale is to spend alot of energy on getting your primary and specialty physician's set up before you move!

Hi, Bjjorn!
This is a great post. Most of us would not think about how important it is to line up a doctor before we move. We are usually all caught up in getting the furniture there, etc.
Sorry to hear you are having trouble getting your RA back under control. Hopefully the meds will kick in soon. Moving can be stressful, too. Maybe when things settle down, and you get into a routine, you will feel much better.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday. Don't forget to take care of you.
Peace,
V
Well, I thought about it but obviously it didn't work out well, I had a pin head for a Rheumatologist in Wisconsin who would not work with me to get and additional infusion at a local hospital. Then it was getting the new doc, getting a time, then goinng thru the whole process with the Insurance company. Anyway, be prepared to start at the beginning again.
I also finally figured out that the stress of moving, moving to 4200 feet, considerably colder temps, and drier weather have really caused some major pain and fatigue flares. I will be glad when it all settles down.
Bottom line, spend as much time planning for your medical move as you do your house move.
