Hi,    Though I have been on methotraxte for a long time now, I have always taken it in the tablet form, and have been pretty OK with it excepting the nausea the whole of the next day. But since I started to actually throw-up soon after the tablets since the past few weeks, my rhuematolog...

I actually started on the methotrexate in injectable form, and I really think it is more tolerable.  The injectable form of the methotrexate bypasses your stomach which relieves most of the nausea, which is wonderful isn't it?  I really like the injectable form of the methotrexate much better but was unable to continue it when I switched isurance so that was that.  As far as your blood tests, they will continue to monitor your levels as they did on the pill form.  Yes the injectable is more potent, but in my case it was more effective as well.  I wish you luck on the injectable, and please let us know how it is going for you.  Good luck and best wishes!

Thanks Holly for that quick reply to my question. Sorry I could not reply earlier cause my comp had broken, I had exams, and after all that writing I did on 5 full papers, I just crashed for the next few days! Smile

It has been 5 weeks since I started the injectible mtx, and yes, like you said, the nause was not there at all, at least for the first 3 weeks, but these last 2 weeks, I did have a little discomfort the next day, but nothing when compared to what it was with the tablets. I also had my latest blood work done just yesterday, and they are normal, so, so far so good!

Sorry to know that you had to stop injections due to insurance problems, with so much pain and everything else to deal with, it would have been really nice to at least get rid of the nausea with the injections, but, well, we all are veterans at taking things in our stride by now, aren't we?! Smile And, I must say, you really are an inspiration to all the rest of us here! keep smiling always!
