Knee Arthoscopy vs knee replacement

Dr. B:

My current rheumatologist is telling me knee arthoscopy is not successful any longer and the only alternative is synvic (sp) or knee replacement. He says I am not bad enough for knee replacement . I say I am also too young 65. He tends to agree. My synvic injects are getting closer in time between injections.

What is the real story on arthoscopy sx. ? Being a former Caremore patient of yours, give me the whole truth on knee arthoscopy.

I had my left knee replaced in 2004. I was 47. Mine did very well. In fact, I was scheduled for right knee replacement 3 months after, but left one took over and we cancelled this surgery. Someday I will have to replace r knee...but not today. For me, it was so worth it. I wish I had done this years earlier.
