Welcome to our community! First, I have to apologize for not getting the sooner - I've been catching up after Arthritis Awareness Month and never quite getting there. Second, I suggest that you check out the instruction to the team on this site so you know who's who.
being new to these diseases can be completely overwhelming. A lot of the initial journey is related to finding out everything you can about your new "companions" in life, adjusting, crying, etc. I want to know that it is absolutely possible to live well with RA and fibro. The first step to dealing with the pain of RA and fibro both is to get control of the RA. There are treatments now that me gives more possible than ever before to get your RA suppressed so you can protect your body from inflammation and get on with your life.
We have a post especially for people who are new to RA that collects links to articles on many different aspects of living well with the disease. We also have numerous slideshows on different aspects of RA. You may also want to check out the fibromyalgia area on our Chronic Pain site for more information about this condition.
We are happy to have you on the site. If you have any questions at all, you can post them in the Q&A section. I'd also encourage you to share your concerns and challenges in more detail in a SharePost and to read others' posts. For more on how to use the site and an overview of the different features we have, check my welcome post to new users.
I look forward to getting to know you!
Hi, Alice,
Are you seeing a Rheumatologist? Hope you are, and that he/she is treating you well. Please post and let us know how you are doing. Feel free to ask any questions you would like. We are not doctors here, but we have a lot of experience with RA nad Fibro. A lot of us here have both RA and Fibro.
Best Wishes,
V
