Stiffness worse

Any thoughts of why I am getting wayyyyy more stiff in the mornings all of a sudden??? HELP. I see my doc at end of Aug. My hands and legs move as one.

Keeping my chin up by sharing.

Hi, Angie,

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like you are gearing up for a flare. I always notice increased stiffness right before my joints start flaring. Do you do any stretching exercises? Pool exercise really helps stiffness, at least for me. Are you taking any prednisone? Perhaps your RD may want you to do a burst of prednisone. I would definitely call your doc before it gets any worse. So sorry, sweetie. Hope you can find an answer and some relief soon.

Hey V, how the heck have u been?? Well, u were right... HUGE FLARE UP!!!!My head hurt for three days,my upper eye lids are swollen even now and my eyes burn. And I been noticing for somtime that my visions changing. Like to read a book, I gotta close my left or its doubled..... Even now its doin it.... I am goin to tell my doc, gonna call her tomorrow. I was on prednisone last month for AWFUL pain. I just dont know...I have tried to send u private messages but it wont let me. can u send me one so I can see if I can reply? I have been doin my pool ROM and stretches... Just cant figure it out, like later yesterday, I got a ton of energy and lit in to cleaning house like crazy!!! Might have something to do with the fact I cant move this morning. Whats that all about? So, whats up with u these days? Gotta go hugs!!

I've been AWOL for a while, but I'm baaaaaaaaack. I was in a huge flare myself, and in the meantime I have switched biologics. I am now taking Orencia. I also tapered completely off prednisone. Not such a good idea, I guess. Darn it!!! So, I am back on 10 mg a day.

I don't like hearing about this eye trouble you are having. You need to call your doc, and you need to have your eyes examined. Are you taking Plaquenil???

I am so glad you are back. You were noticed being MIA..... I am glad you made it through it!! I wish there was a pill that would do a quantum leap through the flares. I slept about all day yesterday. No I'm not taking that "P" med (lol)you were talking about. What is it for? Ive read some about it... and yeah, I'm calling my doc in two minutes. lol Do you think my med insurance will cover an eye exam since I have RA? I dont have eye insurance.... hugs have fun in your pool. Im enjoying mine. Lots of ROM and stretching being done.

Yes, I do think your medical will over your eye exam. My medical did for me because I was having trouble w/my eyes, and I was taking Plaquenil at the time. The eye doctor's office can check that for you before you go to the appointment to make sure it will be covered. They charge so much for eye exams these days. I think my last exam was over 100.00! Ugh. Be sure to let us know what the doc said. And yes, flares stink!!! Especially the ones that last a long, long time.

it could be thatyour RA's flaring. I'd recommend calling your rheumatologist office and asking for an earlier appointment. Explain the situation, state you worry about flaring and that could move you up the appointment list. if they can squeeze you in, then knowing about your situation may result in a booster pack of prednisone that might help.
