I called my RD Monday because I have had a severe headache for 4 days and extreme swelling in my upper eyelid. My left eye is the worst. Cloudy, blurry and burning with strong pressure feeling in both eyes. Also, my left eye is sorta droopy..... Anyone familiar with this type of RA issue? Well, she called me back yesterday morning @ 8:30 and said she was referring me to an opthamologist.. I needed to be seen quickly. I said ok, expecting it to be a week or so. Well, I got another call about an hour later, I see the eye doc today at 2:30. Hows that for quickly. It usually takes a bit to get in. Sooooo, I am slightly concerned about this with the "emergent" appt. Any thoughts? I will update yall later today. But I am expecting some sorta bad news.... Maybe I'm just being paranoid but thats just how I am. So if anyones had these types of problems and has some clues please let me know. thanks!

I don't have those types of problems, Angie, but I am here for you. Please let me know what happens. I am very happy you called your RD and he/she got you into a specialist so quickly. One thing we all need to learn: If you have RA you cannot ignore any physical problems. Maybe it is RA; maybe it isn't. Whatever the case, it needs to be looked at now. Thinking of you and sending up a little prayer.
Peace,

Well, he did several tests and is almost certain I have Graves Disease too!!! WOW, like what else..... I have an eye ultrsound at the retina center on the 7th. Of course that has to do with my thyroid. Oh well, all I can say is rollin, rollin, rollin keep them doggies rollin!
Grave's Disease? Good grief, Angie! You are certainly a unique person.
Regardless of what it is, I'm so happy you are getting it taken care of now. Do your eyes hurt or anything? Keep us informed, sweetie. One day at a time........
Blessings,
V
Yes, my eyes hurt for a week or so at a time. like pressure on my eyeballs, cloudy, blurred vision and swollen eye lids.looks like waters been injected in my upper lids. Well ya know my daughters got Aspergers and her whole life shes been unique, thats 19 yrs now! Guess we finally figured out where she got it from. lol! But, sense of humor helps!! I did ask how it would affect my vision, IT WON"T!!!!!!!! yippyyyyyy.Just prednisone for flares and deal with the worst if the worst happens. Another chapter in my book of life! but seriously, yea another auto-immune to complicate whats already happenin..The eye doc seemed to be saddened and concerned that I have 2 diseases to deal with. Just another specialist if it shows to be true on the ultrasound. They are doin it at the Retina Center in Asheville. They will be the ones that treat me too. But close to home. Bout 20 minutes away. Well we are gettin ready to go on the parkway for a ride. It's 6:50 here so Where we are going is about 1 1/2 hours drive on it. It's been really hot here so getting an early starts nice ! xoxo
an eye ultrasound? Yikes! What was that like?
They numb your eyes with drops. go under your eyelids with a pen like probe ,poking n taking measurements and pics. The only pat that hurt was when she had to push on my lids upper n lower to look for something!Wasn't the worst test ever, like an endoscopy!!!
good point! Endoscopy is my personal "nightmare" test. (shudder). When do you get the results?
soon,I hope. I'll let ya know!
