Hi all, I have not posted in a long time. I have been tied up. I am a RA Patient and I have been diagnosed for two years now. I have just started Humira. I am waiting to see how our insurance is going to handle it because if its $1400.00 a month like the pharmacist told me we will be doing something else. Anyone else out there having these high cost issues with the insurance. Feel free to just say hi.
Hi, Jeff! Welcome back to our community. I don't take a biologic, so I was stunned at the cost you mentioned in your post. Wow. I have read other posts on this board where people talk about geting their biologics for a lot less money. They say that some of the drug companies have programs to help w/the costs of these meds. The costs just seems so unreal to me. No one I know could afford $1400.00 a month. Hope someome else can point you in the right direction. I'm just here to say, "Welcome". God Bless, V

Hello Jeff and welcome to the community ! It is a wonderful place with much information and great caring people who are going through the same thing as you. It feels like a great big family to me :) My name is Kim and I have just been diagnosed with RA for about 5 1/2 months ago. Took a long time to get to that diagnosis. I have really enjoyed the people here and the helpful information available on the site.
I found a website that has information on it about help with the cost of humira.
http://www.humira.com/Global/FinancialHelp/Default.aspx it said under certain circumstances you can even qualify to get it free. I hope this helps. I take methotrexate and plaquinel. Please keep us posted as to how you are and once again welcome!
