My wife and I are very active in our church and community. Last night we went to a small group meeting with some good friends of ours. We do this evey Tuesday when we can. We were talking about pain and dealing with the demands of everyday life when one of our friends shared a very touching story about her Dad. I know he had some type of cancer and he was not doing well. She said the pain medication they were giving him was not keeping up with the pain he was experiencing.
She said as the medication would wear off she could tell he was uncomfortable. She finaly asked him how he was doing and he said just fine. She asked him how could that be and he had this to say. He said no matter how bad this pain is, its nothing compared to what Jesus went through on the cross for me. He said as the pain comes I begin to tell my self this over and over and I make it through one minute at a time.
I have extreme pain but nothing compared to this and I have to look at my life and say that I have been and am blessed everyday. Even the days that I cannot move. Keep the faith out there even if you dont have any. At the end that is all we have left.

in my experience, help comes from the most unexpected places. Thank you for sharing that story.
