I finally got a chance to see my Rhemy. been a year...grr and the pain is getting worse. He has decided to put me on both Lyrica and Celebrex. Now before eveyone starts writting all their bad expriences with these..please note I am aware. I am willing to give it a try, knowing that everyone is different, I figured I would at least try them.
I am on Medicaid (Gov. Healthcare) I pay 120.00 a mth to have it and it covers somethings with co=pays, of course <grrr>. Knowing that, I called my Pharm. today to see if they are ready yet and I was told they both needed a PA (prior auth.) one came back totally denied. I was told that one of these, can't remember which, has a age limit of 60. Meaning I cannot get it because I am to young, being in my 40's. Has anyone else ever had this problem?
Thanks for listening

That does not make sense at all. I recommend you contact your rheumatologist as soon as possible and ask for his help in clearing this up. it may be that the regulations within Medicaid specifies not paying for a medication until the Medicaid recipient is above 60, but if that's the case, there's usually a way around it. You may have to fill out some special forms and jump through an extra couple of hoops, but usually, public assistance of one kind or another has exceptions to the general rules. In addition to talking to you rheumatologist, call your local Medicaid office for help. If they are not helpful - as public assistance programs at times seem to spend an inordinate amount of energy to keep valuable information from reaching their clients - contact a disability advocacy group in your area, as they may have information that can be useful for you.
