Sitting before the tomb of Christ I look for guidance. I can only think of now, at this time, the joy he has given us through his resurrection. Yet, I also look at this as a new time for my soul.
I look not on my triumphs over the evil one but on my shortcomings.
I look not at how I have avoided drunkenness, envy, and debauchery; but how I have fallen short in anger, rudeness, impatience, gluttony, sloth, and selfishness.
I look to Christ show me how to be the servant he has called me to be. A loving husband and devoted servant to my wife.
Christ is Risen! Indeed he is Risen!!!
Above was writted yesterday on Pasch, April 19, 2009.
Pascha this year has a special meaning to me like never before. This is my first year as part of the Orthodox Church. It is my first Pascha after having my spine fused last year.
Also this is my first Pascha after my Rheumatoid Arthritis Diagnosis!
I look forward to the day that Christ returns and all of our bodies are healed from any more pain and suffering for good. When we are raised up and glorified.
I also realized while praying at the Alter, that even in this life, before he comes again; That like my Priest says, it is a spiritual discipline to take all Meds that are prescribed. God did not give people the talent and gifts to create Meds to help us if he did not find it beneficial.
Again I want to wish you a joyous Pascha and May the Lord Bless all of us soon with his return!
