Even though I have only been on this journey for a short period of time since I received my diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis I felt I wanted to tell you about taking a stand against a Med my Rheumy wanted to put me on.

During my last Rheumatologist Visit my doctor and I discussed the option of me being put on Methotraxate. After coming home and researching the side effects I decided that I will not go on this medication. I have other health issues that would only be compounded and made worse by taking this medication.

I feel I have to write this to remind everyone that You and ONLY YOU can make the best decision to protect your health. Your doctor is there to offer their best medical opinion but YOU must be the biggest and yes sometimes the loudest member of your medical team.

Don’t get me wrong I do value their opinion but, at times you must make the decision on what you feel comfortable taking or doing to help improve your overall health and life.

Life can be hard enough without having RA. I tend to have a greater outlook as time goes by. I have learned that I can live, and not just live with RA and that I and only I can make the final decision for what I am comfortable with in my care.

Tomorrow's Topic will either be:

1. From Top Level Athlete to RA Depression and the comeback trail

or

2. Faith's Impact on the fight against RA
