Life Doesn't Stop Just Because You Have Rheumatoid Arthritis

By Sara Nash, Health Guide Monday, September 05, 2011
When I first found out that I had rheumatoid arthritis, I felt like the world needed to stop turning and hang perfectly still on its axis until I could get my bearings and understand what was happening to me.  I wanted to hit pause on some universal remote control long enough to catch my breath ...

I'm so excited for you, Sara. This sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you.  Maybe when you pop in from time to time, you could share some Boston stories.  So much history there!  You will be SO missed, but I have a smile in my heart for you right now.  Your move to Boston will be another adventure in your life. Best wishes, Sara!

Hi Sara,

Congratulations on your new job! I'm still new to this site and trying to catch up with all the wonderful posts written here. What really encouraged me to sign up is how positive and supportive this forum is. It's not about  just venting, complaining, which of course we all need to do from time to time, but most importantly, is about hope - to find help and move from "victim" to "survivor" state of mind. Good luck with Enbrel. I had a good 10-year run with it. It really gave me hope and I could live without major RA's limitations. After all, we have only one life to live. Smile

I'd like to thank you for introducing me to your blog. I hope you'll keep it updated from time to time. It would be nice to pop there to see how you're doing in Bean Town. Special thanks for mentioning "RA Superbitch" in your post "Paying my Respects." It is such a sad story, but I'm happy that I found her hillarious blog. It is so true. Reading it through tears, I came to the same conclusions: "RA Chicks" have the wonderful husbands and that there has to be something to link us...It is not random. Why us? The overachivers, folks with constant lists to-do, always on the run, "unstoppable" until RA visits. There has to be "cure"...

xoxo

Sara, I know I'm wayyyyy late in finding your fabulous stories on here but I'm so glad I did! Your life is my life. I found out that I had RA in 2007. The way that you described your journey was so fascinating to me as I have never talked to anyone with RA. I found out, through you, that I wasn't crazy and that everything that I was going through was "normal". I feel very lucky that my medications work very well now and life is pretty much normal. Well, I do tend to overindulge at times with certain beverages and I have an absolute obsession with red meat so I pay for it some days. I just want to thank you for sharing your story with me and I want you to know that you really made my day. I hope that you're well and I wish you the best! Live, Laugh, Love!!!!!
