Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 12:38 PMI love that RA has inspired you instead of the opposite! I know how easy it could be to go the opposite way.
You are truly an inspiration!
The only things that sounds more amazing than your trip was the determination and stamina you had to accomplish all you did!
Bravo!

Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 03:10 PMA very nice story. I hope it works for you too. Please write again as soon as you know if it worked or not. I'm sure everyone would like to know. Maybe the chemical in the water is something we can get locally. Even if it does not help or cure your RA, know that you had the priviledge of following the steps of Jesus Christ.

Friday, October 16, 2009 at 09:47 AMI'm sure you already know what a positive attitude does. I have Osteoarthritis, neurothopy from sugar diabetes & a fatal lung disease as a results of months of pneumonia. According to several doctors, spring is my check out time. I am taking accupuncture and it helps. I started looking at all the things I still have to do, and I just can't fit a spring funeral into my schedule. I just don't have the time to lay around right now. It would really tick my wife off. So I have posponed it to some time in the future but I haven't had a chance to set a date.
Your mind can do wonderful things if you work at it. Attitude means a lot! I'm 63, married, two children & I'd catch holy hell for leaving.
Close your eyes, clear your mind & concentrate on the healing abillity of your body. There is more power there than any medicine can give you.
Start accupuncture, it works! The Chineese have been doing it for thousands of yrs. One of my Doctors told me that when he was in medical school, he saw a woman have a thyroid operation. She was wide awake, had not been given anything but accupuncture & was fully aware of what was going on. Here in the West, doctors are slow to adapt to Eastern medicine, BUT accupuncture is catching on. I get mine at a VERY reputable hospital! I'm sure that the drug companies & many doctors push to keep it away. They can't anymore, it's here to stay! It's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
I'll write to you again, after Spring.
P.S. Sorry about my spelling, I have a closed head injury.

Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 10:44 PMYour trip sounds fantastic. I'm sure you were exhausted but what a trip. I wish I could have climbed into your suitcase and went along! Egypt is one place on my go to list. One day I'll get there. How were the people? Were they friendly to Americans?
You are an inspiration. Keep traveling and see the world. "Not all who wander are lost."

Friday, October 16, 2009 at 04:31 AMIt is a fantastic description. You know it made me wonder if I can make it to US where one of my sisters stays. She always tells me that US is an easier place for disabled than India. Your story really is making me think of my sister's proposal.

Sigh... it sounds positively glorious. Exhausting, but worth every bit of recuperation you have to do.
