6 weeks ago my right eye felt really dry, started burning, and then felt like it had something in it. I have a history of ulcers on my right eyeball and suspected that this was what was going on (the eye ulcers stems from the same Herpes Zoster virus that causes fever blister on the lip). However, this is the first time that I've had the ulcers since being diagnosed with RA (I take a weekly Enbrel injection). I don't know if the immune suppresants are what made it so bad this time, but, I had 22 blisters on my right eyeball. Today, 6 weeks later, I'm still taking medication daily and using a little steroid drop twice a day. I go back to the eye dr. in two weeks. My eye doctor told me that if we didn't get this under control that I'd end of having to have a cornea transplant. Has anyone else ever had this problem, or a similar problem with your eyes?
Please advise!!

I've never heard of such a thing, but it sounds perfectly awful!
There are times where Enbrel may lead to cold sores, so maybe it's a factor in this? I would recommend that you get your ophthalmologist and your rheumatologist talking to see if they can come up with something between them.
Thanks for your reply, I didn't realize that I had successfully posted this on Friday so I just posted it again.
