I was scared too

By Mary/Dottie Thursday, February 12, 2009

Hi Sue:

I was diagnosed with RA when I was forty years of age. I was completely paralized with it. In the beginning there were no Biologic drugs to take.  I was put on high dosage of Prednisone.

Along with ensaids, they decided to reduce the Prednisone, and add Methotrexate.  I had a severe asthma attack.  I dropped the Metho, and just kept taking the Prednisone along with the ensaids. Forgive my spellings, lol.

I was not able to do anything. I had to quit working, my life was pure Hell.  About four years ago, my doctors approached me about taking Humira, and I was trama stricken. In fact, my RA doctor wrote to my primary doctor to say that " I was not serious about my disease." Imagine that, I was the one living with it, and he said that.  Well I went back to him and told him a thing or two.  After much consideration I decided to try the drug... I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING MY LIFE SINCE THEN.

Now Sue, each of us must make our own decisions, I just want you to know that you MUST take some steps until this RA can be arrested. I will be very glad to be there along the way if you need someone to be with you.  Just keep focused on getting some kind of a "quality" of life.

Keep close to your RA doctor, he/she is your best friend.

Humira really is a miracle drug, isn't it? So glad it's helping you to live your life again.
