I've been living with arthritis since I was 11 and every year I dread the winter. :( Nothing worse then cold joints that freeze up. I've decided to finally start writing about it. I was so ashamed as a child that I never talked about it. Now that it's been more then a decade I think its time I let it go.

SaraCaite, it's really nice to read your post, and very humbling to those of us with more years and less patience...I know "Thank you for sharing" is kind of a cliche, but I truly thank you. I have a daughter who is 25, and I'm afraid she'll have RA at some point. She likes to blog also, and is a writer, I may point her in your direction! My right hand is the worst part of my RA as well ... and, one of my doctors talks about "joint fluid turns to gel in the winter..." - I used to love winter for its beauty but here in the wilds of northern NY, it ain't fun with or without RA if you're not a hunter/skiier/snowmobiler (which I most definitely am not!)
... I feel very much at home with your writing. Keep it up!
