Sue and anyone who has just learned you have RA.

Friday, October 10, 2008 at 04:56 PMJust remember it is another of those things that are hard to live with. Talk with those of us who have had it a long time and listen carefully. Keep your body moving and weight down to a healthy range. Exercise as much as your body can handle. Listen to your Dr. I hope he specializes in RA. Take as few pain med.'s as possible. That way when you get older and everything else hurt too, you will nor be too tolerate to pain killers and they will work better.
RA is not a good thing to have but there are things that are more unmanagible. I have not been on this site before and glad that I happened on it too. God Bless, Opal

Friday, October 10, 2008 at 05:57 PMI have had RA for 11 years, and you can say that I was one of the one that
didn't listen in the early years. I am now paying for it. I just found out about a
year ago that I have OA also. That can get tough when you have both.lol There
starting me in a pain center on the 16. So any newcomers don't be a hardhead like i was.

Welcome, welcome, welcome Sue!
I'm Joy, the site manager. I am so glad that you found what you needed and more here in our community. Every day I am amazed and impressed by the support our readers provide for each other; the tough, smart questions they ask about medication, dealing with family and staying positive themselves; and by the honesty of our experts who share the lessons they've learned living with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Every time someone like you joins us, we become a better community.
Share, ask questions and let us know if there's anything else you need or were just wondering about. Thank you!
