I am a 49 yo female- was dx with RA July 2005 and was on Prednisone, pain meds, then Methotrexate then upped all meds and still no relief. I asked my RA doc to HELP that nothing was working, I felt like I had burning arrows stuck in my shoulders.. swelling 3x in wrists, knees, and ankles. I called them in tears ( got little sympathy or concern) and begged for somthing more. The nurse said " what do you want me to do- what do you want?" GOSH, I was devastated and hurt- I wouldn't wish this on anyone- I wish people could know for  how painful and crippling this is. Maybe they may have some compassion! I said I need to be on something  SO over the phone she said what do you want to be on and I said "hmmm , Enbrel, my research says this works well in 40+ women with severe RA. "  The overnighted ( I promise)me the shots to take

the next day( Thursday Nov 11) . We had some men working on the roof so I had to ask one to open the alchol bottle for me-that bad!! I called the Enbrel nurse and she helped me do my injection-thank GOD!!

The next day, I could at least walk and pain was in 1/2 but still stiff and miserable. March 2006 I got off Prednisone and off pain meds. I am now taking 1/2 Methotrexate(5pills on Thurs- not 11) and on FA and those darn Enbrel shots every Thursday. I have cut out white potatoes, peppers, eggplant, soft drinks, corn, 1/2 wheat, 1/2 or more dairy, and have aded 2x my greens and on probiotics.  Curious, does anyone know a pt with RA that has been on meds like me and maybe got to a lower dose with Enbrel or any other tricks to get my body back in ph balance or reverse this disease.

HELP   thanks Pam Harrell( turning 50 in November- I say I will be on 1/2 meds then.. I need help!
