Rheumatoid Arthritis and Diet

By Cathy, Health Guide Friday, February 25, 2011
Ever since my diagnosis in 2004 of rheumatoid arthritis, I have had a belief that our body wants to heal itself.  I believe our bodies are amazing beings that are constantly trying to fix the evils we throw at them.  With this in mind, I started working with a naturopath about eight months ...

I am alwasy interested in alternatives treatments.  I do follow an anti-inflammatory diet for the most part.  I can't say that it has decreased my pain leve a lot, but I do feel it is a healthy diet, so I continue on.

Sometimes I stray and eat vanilla ice cream w/choc chips in it. Wink  I think that is an American thing we just have to do once in a while!

As with medication, alternative methods of pain and inflammation control most likely affect individuals in individual ways.  What works for one, may not work for another.

I definitely know one thing.  Without my pain meds I could not function at home, let alone work. I am thankful pain meds are available That being said, I think we all should be willing to adjust our diets and do what we can to strengthen our bodies and help them heal.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.
