One thing that helps my husband and I is a set "Date Night" Each week. I pick up take-out for the kids on the way home from work, then we go out together. The rationale is that if I don't have to cook, I will have the energy for sex. On really bad RA days, the grown-ups have take-out too, but we always dedicate our energy towards each other. Our night is Thursday so we don't have to deal with weekend traffic or crowds. We've done this for years and it has really helped us keep our relationship strong and our sex-life alive through all the ups and downs of this disease.
great post, Cathy! Sex is a really important part of relationships and can be very helpful in combating the urge to hate your body because of what RA does do it.
I liked how you talk about the fact that sex can be many different things and that you don't have to swing from the chandeliers in order to connect on an intimate level. Thanks so much for writing this!

Debra, I love this idea. Thanks for sharing it. That is so smart to lessen your load so the energy can be conserved for something else.
