I have had very painful wrists and hands for years with the right being more painful than the left even though I am left handed. Go figure that out.
Recently the right thumb joint which has always been very painful decided to go gangbusters at the same time as the outside right wrist joint.
I have been wearing a brace on it for weeks and waiting for a rheumy appointment, I will show her my new xray and wait on the results, that arm also gets pins and needles and numbness, perhaps from my right shoulder, ??/who knows
It is very hard to define which joint/muscle is the culprit sometimes, and because as the old song says the hip bone is connected to the knee bone etc etc, sometimes a few go out together in sympathy.
So that is my right side
On my left side, my major problems are left foot and ankle, plantar fasciatis on left foot, left knee which has had surgery before, now has a problem with a muscle on the inside of the knee caused by me twisting it, not to mention my left hip which will need replacing soon
So Imagine me with left side lower half not at all functional, right side upper half not very functional...and everything else jogging along, painful but less so than the main offenders.
If I could draw, it would make a good cartoon
I think that pain scales should be more like an outline of the body with painful areas highlighted in colour according to degree of pain.
Sometimes it seems that the pain from various areas will all melt and merge together and it is hard to define it's source. I recently had a bladder infection but did not notice the pain as the pain from my back/hip is so intense.
It would be good to have a way to separate the pain into neat categories.
Well I will take my long list of current issues to the rheumy in two days, have my sinus op next week, oh I forgot the dentist this week as well, hobble of to shower and bed.
I will keep all braces on all night and find a position in my bed which will allow me to sleep for a while.
It is important I find to keep a sense of humour going as much as possible
I have a wierd sense of humour and sometimes think our joints talk at night when we are asleep, [like the movie toy story, where the toys are alive and come to life in the absence of people], and plot what they will get up to next.
God bless all who read this

Hi, Wonderwomn,
You have a lot going on! Hoping your sinus surgery goes well. Will you be able to take a biologic after your sinus surgery? Please let us know how you are doing, and tell those joints to not talk so loud that they keep you from getting your beauty rest!
Hugs,
V
