It is so severe that my head is continually soaked and dripping, not a nice look! In the midst of all the other issues I am juggling, I had put it on a back shelf in my head, considering it to be an unpleasant reality in my life. Today I went to doctor google about it and landed on the we md. site, ( see link above) As I scrolled through, almost yawning with the boredom of seeing nothing new, suddenly under the heading of possible causes, was RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS. So fellow hound dogs, lets get on the track of this. Speaking of sweating.....I recently flew using wheelchair assist, a service I have used before. I have found the quality of this service very inconsistent even with the same airline. On this last trip, the staff member assigned to push me, looked and sounded angry, she sighed as she pushed me, talking of how it hurt her back! She asked me to move to an electric chair, ok, no problem, but she kept complaining until finally as we reached our destination, she turned to face me complaining of how much she was sweating. I could not resist saying " we'll think of all the money you have saved by not needing to go to the gym" Yes I did put in an official complaint and received a phone call from the airline with a horrified reaction and then strangely, a survey form about that particular trip. This is not the first time I have experienced attitudes like this and although I seldom fly now, it adds greatly to the burden of everyday living that we cope with. So as Alcoholics Anonymous says " God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference" Otherwise known as the serenity prayer

I have the same sweating issue, Wonderwoman!  At first I thought it was hormonal, but that wasn't it.  I talked to my rheumy about it and she indicated it was part of RA. I have the same sweating issue, Wonderwoman!  At first I thought it was hormonal, but that wasn't it.  I talked to my rheumy about it and she indicated it was part of RA. Sometimes my "RA Sweats" are worse than others.  The better controlled my RA is, the fewer the sweats.  And you are so right.  They are awful.  I can feel the heat radiating from my scalp and my hair literally drips sweat at times.  I just ordered some chilly pads off of Amazon and some cooling wipes I can carry in my purse.  I ordered a bandana that you put in the feezer and then tie it around your neck for those really hot summer days.  Haven't received any of these yet, but will let you know how they work.

The treatment you received at the airport was outrageious.  Thank you for speaking up about it. I am so sorry your were treated that way.

    Blessings,

    V

      Hi, Wonderwoman!

My cooling aids came in the mail today.  Can't wait to try them out.  Will let you know how they do.

My rheumy doesn't want me to have any surgeries unless life saving.  I guess I will just deal with these nasty sweats best I can.

I hope you are doing okay.  I think of you often.

      Hugs,

it really is amazing how some people feel so utterly free with complaining about how much of a bother people with disabilities and chronic illnesses are. Someone once gave me some very good advice: if you're well enough to come to work, you're well enough to do your job.

Thanks for the link to the article about excess sweating. That's really helpful....

Hi Lene I sometimes think it would be nice to be able to push a button and give everyone a brief taste of life with ra Just enough for them to develop an empathy bone At least the airline is taking it seriously
