RF once positive then negative

By aloke Thursday, May 15, 2008

I want to ask the experts that if a person has tested positive to RF at repaeated intervals with clinical signs of RA and later after few years RF turns out to be negative despite joint deformities what does it signify?

This could just mean that you are in remission.  Have you been feeling pretty well, or are you in a flare?  Your rheumatoid factor is tricky as it is used to diagnose many different things.  Have you spoke to your doctor on what this means for you?  I would suggest giving the doctor a call with your questions.  I have included a wonderful health central link that talks a little more about your rheumatoid factor.  Here it is:

I hope this helps.  Please keep us updated on how it turns out.  Good luck and best wishes!
