Trigger Point Muscle Pain

By BuffaloGal Wednesday, May 02, 2007

Does anyone out there experience trigger point muscle pain?  Around my hips, thighs and lower back I have areas that are so sore to just push against.  I have been treated for what is thought to be bursitis and tried botox injections which actually helped for about 6-8 months.  I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.  There are times I cannot sleep on my sides.

Thanks,

Hi,

My mother (who also had RA) had similar trigger points where it hurt her even to sit without a temperpedic cushion from the points. She would also get injected with cortisone and/or botox. Our rheum. told us (we had joint appts) that it was part of the RA and osteoarthritis she suffered from. She used muscle rubs, some muscle relaxers at bedtime and would go sit in a whirlpool or sauna at our local gym. These were the only facilities she used there. I hope you're feeling better!

Thank you. I was beginning to think I had Lupus symptoms as well. Sometimes the trigger point pain is more debilitating than the RA symptoms. I will try the Sauna at my gym.

Cheers!

Hi, My name is Angy and I have the same pain you are describing and I also have Trigger pain in my shoulders. Both places I can't even stand to be touched even slightly. My rheumy says its Fibromayalsia. It effects my sleep among other things. I hope this helps you. It is so nice to know that I am not crazy that there is someone who knows how all this feels. Take Care.

Angy
