Newbie seeking information

By desperately seeking info Friday, September 19, 2008

Hi!  If you knew someone who was just diagnosed with RA, where would

you suggest they go online (or off) to find information on their treatment

options?  What are the most helpful sources of info ?  Thanks so much

for any help you can give me.

I went online and looked at any information I could find concerning RA. I would also talk to my doctor.

Thanks Bucky,

Did you find any particularly helpful websites?

I am sorry I didn't list them initially. I just typed in Rheumatoid Arthritis in a search engine and started reading the results. I think Web MD as well as some other medical schools help me understand what RA was when I was going through being diagnosed. I personally like this website and the Arthritis Foundation's website too. Arthritis Foundation has some packets of information they will send you and free email alerts and such. My Rheumatologist gives me some different magazines (Arthritis Today I believe as well as some others) that I will go through. My best suggestion for you is search the internet, focus on medical schools and arthritis organizations for research but always ask your doctor before you try anything. I hope this helps you out more!

I googled it to start with, the only additional information i can think of is the medical websites give accurate info about symptoms and stuff but you can often find information thats more useful in your everyday life on forums and websites like this. Hope this helps xxx
