I across a couple of (comical) tattoos that express our fight with RA.

Hopefully, it brings a smile to your face as it did mine!

hhahahaha, I love 'em.  Hey I'm 66 years old and have 3 of them.  2 are pretty new also.   Now I'll have to think about one of these, probably the "sucks".   LOL, love it.

I'm thinking of the one "Arthritis Sucks" for the hip I had injected today.  Thanks for the laugh, hmmm wonder if the doctor would laugh as hard as I did next time I need an injection.

On a personal note, please look at tattoos on paper and other people, but don't get one yourself.  Duh, Dumb me.  I got a tattoo on my calf and completely forgot that my immune system was compromised and it literally took 6 months and a lot of babysitting to keep it from getting infected, to heal.  Please learn from my mistake or stupidity.

You know...now that makes me wonder if that is why my ear never would heal when I got it pierced a few years ago!!!  I finally had to just take the earring out.

probably is the reason.  It never occured to me before I got the tattoo.  I sure wouldn't have gotten it if I had thought it through.  I guess I thought it would just affect me when I caught a cold etc.  I hope people do see this and think it through because it sure did give me trouble.

I haven't been able to wear earrings for that last several years due to burning, itching infection that starts as soon as I put them in.  I have found though if you want to wear them for that special event you're going to, that if you put a small amount of neosporin on the stem/hook & the backing that I can wear them for a few hours. I take them out as soon as I get home & this seems to do the trick with little irratation. Dont get over confident & leave them in over night thou ... you'll be sorry.

I love the tattoo pics but you bring up a critical issue...immunosuppressed people (those taking most of the DMARDS for RA) should avoid getting a tattoo. I got a bee sting this summer and it took 4-5 weeks for it to stop bothering me!

Related to this, my nurse told me to avoid the first round of swine flu vaccines because they are nasal mist containing a live virus.

I have a superman tatoo on my right arm. After the RA hit I thought it would be fitting to have a green krytonite rock that says RA on my left arm. HAHA

Although I have never seriously considered getting a tattoo before, I would consider one of these!  Thanks for the smiles!
