I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at 13 months old, am now 31yrs old. Have loads of support from family and friends, but was wondering if anyone knew of a support group in the Bournemouth/Poole area in Dorset. Where I can meet with others with the same condition, just for a chat and a coffee.

I don't live near you but we could talk through e-mail. I am 55 and was only diagnosed this past July. I am still trying to get a handle on it. I have bouts of depression and I am still trying to decide on what meds to take. They all have so many side effects.

Yes it would be nice to talk by email. I'm at the moment going thru tryin to find some different ways to ease my pain, other than the drugs. mainly cos I'm tryin for a baby, but also cos I wanna stay off the strong ones as long as I possibily can. I'm glad my parents did not go down the steroid route when I was young, but have not ruled them out if I have to.

I have been taking prednisone but am in the process of getting off. I am down to 5mg every other day and hope to be off completely by next week. My dr wants me to try methotrexate or humaria. I am reluctant because of the side effects. I have heard of a drug LDN, low dose naltrexone, that is used for MS and Crohns. They say it is good for RA and many other diseases and some cancers. I have been to the web site and it looks good to me. Low dose and low side effects. Check it out and see what you think. My dr hasn't heard of it for RA. Be careful of the drugs you try especially if you are trying to have a baby.

Hi,
Having a really bad day today, just wanna say in bed. But made myself get up and move. But still have not bothered to get dressed yet. But then i'm not planning on going out.
