About Me

I was diagnosed with RA long after I began suffering daily with it's symptoms-about 2-3 years ago. I underwent extensive testing for Leukemia and then Lymphoma by a hematology oncologist. This huge battery of tests revealed no cancer.

I had to have one knee replaced about 5 years ago; and now am having tremendous problems particularly in the other knee. it swells to the size of a large cantelope, is extremely painful, and has kept me bed=ridden for multiple days over and over.

I have also been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, Depression-(seeing a psychiatrist for last 5 years). as well as having to follow up yearly on the lymphoma checkup.

My Rheumatologist is arranging for me to start RITUXAN IV infusion therapy, as well as daily Forteo injections to help
build bone mass.

I am getting married in 7 weeks and feel fearful about starting such a regimen and it's side effects for my wedding and honeymoon in Jamaica. So I think if it takes too much longer, I will probably have to wait until after we're back home to start. I just don't want to be so sick and ruin our dream wedding!

I've been advised by others to try Flexcin, B50, and high protein diet. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions from you regarding your experience of living with RA (and the other condiitons)!

I taught myself to use deep breathing, relaxation techniques, meditation and prayer to help getting through those painfully, sick periods-as well as very bad chronic fatigue, which has turned out to be extremely helpful - of course I have pain meds too, but try not to take them as often as prescribed.

So... that's my story in a nutshell. I look forward to using this site as an additional coping and educational tool.

Thank you for listening, and I pray God wlll lay His healing hands on all of us!

My internist made the diagnosis and has been treated me with Prednisone,Sulfasalizin, Trilisate and Methotrexate injections, as well as Calcium, Folic Acid, and Vitamin D supplements.

In January, 2007, my internist recommended that I see a Rheumatology specialist due to increasingly bad test results. He felt that he had done all he could do for me.
