...and my joints in my hands are swelling. My right and left thumb joints are twice as big as they should be. Actually, the right thumb joint is about three times as big as it should be. I noticed them today at work. I had trouble holding a pen in my hand to write. I adjusted the way I hold the pen, and got by. My feet are stiff and sore, too, but not as bad as they were last May. I am taking the tramadol, which helps a lot. I'm taking 4 mg of prednisone a day, too. That is all I have to take for the EIO at the moment. I don't think my rheumatologist knows what to do next. He wants me to take the tramadol and prednisone to get through the holidays while he "thinks" about "it". I did so well on the Plaquenil, but I guess there is no going back there, since I had a reaction to the Plaquenil. In addition to the thumbs and feet, my hips are both stiff and sore. I have bursitis in my left hip and now my right hip feels about the same. The tendons and muscles in my forearms are swelling, too. Not as much as my thumbs, but it is noticable and painful. My elbows are tender...no, they are painful. I tried to do Tai Chi last night, but I had to stop. My knees are too painful. I am just chronicalling what is going on in case anyone else out there has this strange condition or disease or whatever it is. We shall see what the rheumy comes up with. I need to call and make an appointment to see him. I have an appointment scheduled for the end of February, but I think I need to see him before then. Maybe he will come up with something. I hope so. If not, at this rate, I won't be able to write soon. Typing is easier, but writing has become a real chore.
Wishing all you out there a painfree day.
