Alternative for Prednisone?

Betsy ann Community Member April 30, 2008
  • I have been on prednisone for about a year now. I'm down to 2 milligrams a day. I want to know if anyone has an idea of an alternative medicine that I could start taking. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Betsy,  I don't know much about alternative medicine.  But I found a wonderful health central site where a doctor talks a little bit about it.  I hope this helps.

Good luck and best wishes Betsy!

There no succesful treatments or CAMs proved to be effective to deal with pain and inflammatory, disgusting episodes.

Even if your pain, swelling and stiffness dissapear for a while don't stop treatment because the disease will progress to more aggressive episodes.

For the time being I think this is the lowest dose to minimise to the least negative side effects in the long run. Once you get to more than 5 mg a day, you'll experience kidney problems, eye problems (chromatography), induced osteoporosis and liver failure too...
