I haven't tried the medication that you're about to start, but I've lived with this disease for over 40 years and can tell you this: it ebbs and flows. There are really hard times and then there are easier times. Hopefully you and your doctor will soon find medication that can bring you into the easier times.
In terms of the natural remedies, I'd recommend that you find a licensed naturopathic doctor to keep you safe when using herbal meds with the Western meds (for more information, see my recent post on alternative remedies).
