Hello all, I was diagnosed with RA at the age of 33 (44 now). My Rheumy at the time back in 1999 insisted we begin by treating my RA very aggressively and prescribed Enbrel, MTX and Celebrex. Being that Enbrel was brand new to the market and I hated injections I was more than against any inje...

I'm so sorry to hear about your plight. It sounds like you had a good run with Enbrel but it's clearly no longer working. My rheumatologist was involved with clinical trials of Enbrel back in the day and he says that it either doesn't work or stops working for a percentage of RAers. There are many other alternatives out there and some new TNF blockers like Simponi and Cimzia (which I just switched to) plus some other biological medications. Make sure to bring those up with your doctor. Oftentimes, switching meds can help. I hope and pray that you find relief soon and life gets back to some balance.

Enbrel was also my miracle medication, although I was only able to use it for two years due to developing some interesting side effects. However, I switched to Humira and that has been just as much of a miracle for me and I can highly recommend it. there are a number of other Biologics available, as well, including Remicade, Orencia and a few newer meds like Simponi. talk to your doctor about your options and have faith - is quite possible to find another medication that may work just as well.
Please let us know how it goes?
