Hi there,
My name is Debbie and about 1 month ago I started Rituxin. It was my last resort. I've been on all the other remicade, enbril, humira, etc. I have had RA for 10 years. I did one infusion and then another two weeks later. I am still on methotrexate, but cannot function without 5-10 mg of prednisone. So far no real improvement noticed. I live in a very damp climate with many molds and pollens. I always take notice of the barometric pressure. We will see.

I have had RA for 16 years. I have tried other treatments. Embrel, Arava, Humeria. Methotrexate made my stomach upset. So we tried the Rituxim I am on my third dose. I lasted 10 months the first time and 9 second dose. But I had a lot of things going during that second dose. I don't pain meds right now. With the Embrel and the rest I still hurt and took strong pain meds. I hope this helps you out. God bless you.

While starting a new medication can be scary, starting a newly available medication for rheumatoid arthritis can be even scarier. That being said, I myself have actually taken Rituxan on a rheumatoid arthritis study. Well, may have taken Rituxan as I was never really sure if I got the true dose or not. I did feel extremely wonderful after my 6 hour infusion whether it was from the saline or the actual medication. Also the people that I have spoken to during my various 6 hour wait in the infusion room have all had very positive things to say about it. However, as with a lot of rheumatoid arthritis medications, there are some scary side effects. I have found a link for you to look over if you would like in regards to some things the Food and Drug Administration had to say about Rituxan.
