Lucille Ball and RA

By pat Saturday, August 18, 2012

I did not know this....but saw it on a "blog"...they say Lucille Ball had RA....Thought you all would enoy the article.  As well, they talked about something called KT Tape?  Have you ever heard of it?  I haven't done a search on the site yet....but will after I post this.

Hi, Pat,

Did you find out what K tape is?

V, They were using it all over on the Olympics - its a strechty tape in some bright colors that is applied to the skin that the athletes use to relieve strains or muscle pain - some dissent over whether this is effective or if it is merely a placebo effect.

Thanks, Leslie!  I have seen that.  A lady at work has it on every day.  Now I know what you are talking about.

Actually, when I had a very bad tendon in my foot, the therapist taped my foot and it helped a lot.  At least it felt better!  Surprised

Hi, Pat,

Found out what it is and bought some....I ended up with plantar fasciitis on the leg I had the knee replacement done on....can't take any anti-inflammatories.....so I tried it.  I feel very, very MINIMAL relief....but I will give it a few days.  It could be I put it on wrong, could be like someone mentioned, placebo effect.  I am not sure.   Will try it on the left knee for bracing since it is acting up some.

Thanks for all your input....you all are great, as always.

thanks for posting this, Pat - I had no idea that Lucille Ball have RA, so that was interesting to find out.

Would you be willing to write about your experience with K tape? I also saw an article about it during the Olympics and wondered if it can help pain. I think our community would find such a post interesting.
