    Thanks Ellen for sharing this. It was excellent and technical but I like those sorts of things. I really liked the explanation of the connection between TNF and osteoblasts...cells that destroy bone tissue. I always wondered what caused bone erosion in RA. And it helped me understand why TNF blockers like Enbrel and Humira work to slow bone damage. I hope this research group develops some new meds in the future.

    You're welcome - yeah, it is kind of interesting that even understanding it is rewarding, even if it doesn't change the situation - or maybe it changes it in the sense that a) we know what's going on (some of the mystery is taken away, and hence of the "OMIGOD!" power), b) it's not "our fault", and c) hope for the future.

    Thanks for writing, it's always good to know that someone else is on the same page!
