I have been taking methotraxate since Oct 07. It was 12 mg in the beginning and has been increased to 15 mg since Dec. My question is...does anyone have gritty and runny eyes due to the med? I do smoke but, have never had this happen. It has been ongoing for a few weeks. Hope to hear some feed-back....

Vickie,
I've read your previous sharepost on helpful tips...I am sure that you have been told....the smoking is way bad. I am on blood thinners the rest of my life because of cigarette smoking. It made me throw three blood clots into my lungs, it triggered a Protein C&S defiency in my blood, I almost died from that at 35 yrs. old, I am now 46. It was the most difficult thing to ever quit.. I loved to smoke...my family, & to be here for them was the one thing that made me quit because I want to be here for as long as I can for them. My Dad died at 61 yrs of age because he couldn"t/wouldn't stop smoking. I miss him, my children miss him, my grandchildren will never meet him on this earth. Just something for you to think about....Take Care& God Bless, Connie

I too take methotrexate and have watery eyes. My eyes also itch at night. It also causes stomach upset for me. I have been on this drug for several years but pain wise I do feel better than I did before I took it.
