thank you for looking into this issue for us, Leslie. It's an important and worrying concern and, as you mentioned, an indication of how strained the healthcare system is.

 

I'd encourage anyone who is taking injectable methotrexate is talk to their doctoras soon as possible about how to handle the situation.

The shortage seems to be influencing different regions at different times. I live in Utah. My pharmacist couldn't get Methotrexate in the fall, but I've had no trouble filling my prescription since they got a new provider in late November.

I had read that they have resolved the shortage and that it should be better shortly.  In the meantime, I searched and came across a company who is offering free Methotrexate to people who are having problems.

I have had to call all around to fill my prescriptions and finally found a 10mg bottle with preservative which is just about done so we will see what happens next week when I try to get a refill.  What I found was some pharmacies have larger quantity bottles with preservative which means multiple uses are okay.
