hi i have had arthiritus now for the past 5 years suffering from pain all the time in my joints.

Hi and welcome - so you are just starting methotrexate? Hopefully that will help but i understand that it can take a couple of weeks to months ... if you have already had joint damage you may want to talk with your doctor abourt the possibility of using a biologic drug. He may have to start with MTX to satisfy the insurance companies, but studies show that it's actually safer to get the 'heavy' drugs sooner to avoid more joint damage ... even with the risks that all meds carry. Maybe read up on it yourself and then talk with your doctor. Or - if you start to get relief from the methotrexate, maybe you will want to stay with that for the time being. But don't wait too long ...
