About Me

Age 66, officially diagnosed with RA via Rheumatoid Factor blood test 8 years ago. Been on Pred, Plaq, Methotrexate all this time. Original meds included 10mg of Pred per day, then up to 15mg/day. In a year's time I ballooned to 187 pounds and had that moon face. With doc's okay I weened off Pred, lost the weight and moon face and went on 7 years ok with just minor twinges now and then that were no concern to me due to age factor. But recently my left foot got so bad I had to do something. Did that yesterday (9/21/09) and am Pred Burst. Starting the 2nd day of pills and my foot feels better already. To top it all off, at the same time I have developed a case of shingles, second time in less than a year, so I'm also on Alcyclivir 800mg for that. The golden age sucks! Hahaha! love to hear from anyone with symptoms like me. ~Apache Jones
