I have been on Enbrel, hydrochloroquine and folic acid for several months and it seemed like it was working for me for the most part. I always had some pain/discomfort, joint popping sounds and range of motion problems in my elbows but for the most part the pain and limited mobility went away after ...

My husband is from the LaCross area so I just had to say GO BADGERS!!  At the wedding I'm pretty sure he had something worked into the vows about being Packer fans too! I'll have to check the tape, it's been awhile.  We're thinking about getting a dog and my son (age 10) is obsessing about naming it "Favre" or, get this, PACKER!!  How awful is that one?!

Anyway, sorry about the diagnosis.  Yeah it pretty much sucks and no getting around it!  I too struggle with the "feeling lucky" thing, cuz so far for me it's been at worse a pain in the butt.  Still, would feel even luckier if I didn't have it at all and have to feel crappy with all the meds or worry about how bad it's going to get.  Actually had a dream the other night about vitamin interactions and picking out canes!  YUCK!

Well, keep in touch Bucky.  It's nice hearing from someone in the homeland!

Oh my it sounds like you have your hands full with the naming of the dog.  I am a packer fan but not to that extent.  That is funny about the working of the vows.  We men can be pretty funny when it comes to marriage and football!  My wife wanted to get married in the fall but I would not let her since every date she picked out fell on a Badger Football Saturday home game (I make every home game even if I have to drag myself in).

I tend to agree with you and the struggles of this disease and feeling lucky sometimes.  My mother was diagnosed about 6 months before me with RA and she hasn't been responding to any medicine and may have to go on disability.  It makes me so sad to see her dealing with the pain and mobility issues.  It makes me wonder if I am going to get that bad as well.  These "flare ups" scare the heck out of me because I don't know if it is a "flare up" or something that is going to be permanent.  Stop dreaming about canes already!  I know it has came across my mind before but I keep thinking that I will be out again running soon and I will be able to beat this disease.

I will try and keep in touch!  It is nice to see someone out here that is familiar with Wisconsin!
