About Me

I was diagnosed with RA in June of 2008. I am still trying to get the bartender to mix me the perfect cocktail to manage my symptoms. I am (re)married, we have 5 children between us, and a grandson who will be 3 next month. RA has had quite an impact on my life, as I lost my job and am currently receiving (private insurance) disability pymts until I can return to work at least part-time. I previously was a mental health counselor at a psych hospital, then a career counselor at a job center. Loved both jobs, as I am quite the "caretaker." So, you can imagine how topsy-turvey it is for me to NEED care! Had a back incident during a flare, leaving me with 2 torn discs in my lumbar region. Recently, I've been experiencing tendon problems (my, that's an understatement!!) which may be RA related, or related to taking the antibiotic Levaquin.
