HUMIRA & VACCINES

Hey All,

Sorry I haven't been on here in awhile. As far as the vaccines for Shingles & tetanus we on Humira cannot get those. When I had switched my doc's over, my new doc didn't know that I was already on Humira. They were going to start me up. When I called & asked "big red light", "STOP".... NO live vaccines on Humira very bad JUJU.

So my new advice to all.... make sure your new doc, if you are changing, knows ALL of...

Hi All,
Well I am officially off my prednisone after 8 months & 48 lbs of body weight added.....WOW... now hopefully I will get an opportunity to take some of this weight off. My hands have been flaring up this past month but I've been working alot with my hands between Sub-teaching, photography work & some gardening planting. Still on the methotrexate.....can anyone give me an idea of what to add to my meth regimen to help with the...

Methotrexate & Prednisone

Hi All,I have a couple quick questions....has anyone been on the combination of methotrexate & prednisone? I started on 10 mg of prednisone. Two months after that my Rheumatologist started me on methotrexate 3-2.5 pills once a week. Now every two week I back off 1 mg of prednisone & every 1 month I have my methotrexate increased. At the moment I'm on 6mg of prednisone(soon to be 5) & 7-2.5 Methotrexate. My inflamation goes up...

RA & Depression

I just read the share post from Hollybgroovin'.....yes tears came rolling down. I think we all have the time frames of feeling depressed. What we need to remember is this very true statement. WE ARE NOT ALONE!!! When we are having that kind of day where we don't want to do anything or see anyone that is when you need to hop onto this site & read. You don't have to get dressed or put your makeup on or even try to smile to try and...

Prednisone: It's a start!

Hello All,This is offically my second sharepost. I had first written about advice on whether or not to start prednisone. The stress I was having is that I take a blood thinner for a rare blood disease, coumadin keeps me from throwing blood clots to my lungs or heart or brain, that could be a problem if that happened, wouldn't have to worry about the RA then;).....Just playing, bad humour. Anyhow, my Doc pushed me into a corner and gave me...

Hello All,I have a question? Is there anyone that has a condition called Protein C and S deficency, ( I am on coumadin, a blood thinner for this), that also has Rheumatoid Arthritis? My doctors want to start me on Prednisone and I am not pleased with the side affects that occur with this drug. I had three pulmonary embolism the last time they put me on a hormone. Not Good.
