I am 56 years old and have been living with RA for one year. The older it seems I get the more health problems I have. I have to say RA has been the worst. I started treatment on Plaquenil and an anti-inflammatory drug which seem to help with the pain for about 8 months. The pain has gotten worse. My rheumatologist added methotrexate and folic acid which I will begin next week. I hope the side effects are minimal. I also was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 three years ago. My family has a history of High Blood Pressure,RA, and Heart Disease. I lost both of my parents to Heart Disease at the age of 61. I am a retired public school educator, however, I wanted to continue teaching. I'm currently a special education teacher of middle/high school students in a juvenile detention center. I would like to work 5 more years, but I don't know if I'll physically be able to make it. I have found your journal entries very helpful. It is so nice to know I'm not the only one with this disease.

Perry,
Thanks for the support!!! A friend of mine has been on the Monte Vie Juice for 8 months. She has osteoarthritis and the inflammation and nodules in her hands have completely gone away. She swears it worked better for her than meds. I read the recipe for raisins and gin. I don't think I could handle the gin.I never could eat Christmas goodies cooked with rum or bourbon. I'm glad your back is better. Have a Happy New Year also.
Thanks for the information.I'll have to get some of the salt you talked about.I started methotrexate last week. So far so good, however, I was only pain free for 3 days. I hope the pain free days increase as my dosage level increases. I'm so happy to hear you're doing well. I haven't gone dancing in a long time. It sounds like your natural herbs and juice have turned back the clock for you( 40 instead of your youthful 60). Next time dance an irish jig for me!! Take care and have a great week.
