Was just wondering if anyone has used REMICADE and what the results were. My Doctor suggested I research it but said there are alot of side affects. Any info would be appreciated. Tried other methods and he wants me to try this.

Hi Dick.  I have been on Remicade.  It worked great for me.  The only side affect that I noticed was that after my infusion, the next day I felt tired but not so much that I couldn't accomplish things.  I am now on Enbrel.  One of the problems with Remicade is once you have to be taken off of it due to an infection of any kind (I got penumonia and was hospitalized), you cannot go back on it.  Enbrel is working for me now but I was pain free on Remicade, Enbrel isn't as reliable.  You can research Remicade on Web MD that is a great resource for these types of meds.  I wish you well.

    Hi,

I have been on Remicade since March, 09. I will have my 4th infusion on July 17, 2009, which will include an increase in the medication that is administered at that time.  I am also on methotrexate (weekly dose), prednisone and meloxicam daily for pain.  I feel the Remicade has helped me, but I am very tired the day after the infusion and know that it will be a down time day for me.  I am still having pain in my feet and hands, which my dr. tells me should subside with this medication.

Everyone is different in how the meds react and treat, but I have had very little side effects on this medication.  As a matter of fact, I have been able to increase my exercise time, bicycle riding and swimming (and lose weight), too.

I've learned that every medication warning lists all of these little life threatening side effects, but if it helps halt the progression and helps you feel better, go for it.  It's going to take a few infusions before you feel better.

    Keep us posted.

Hi, I've been on remicade since last summer (july 08) and it seems to help. I haven't had any reations except for some fatigue the day of and a little the day after. It took a few months for me to feel any results though, and now I'm on it once a month, most people can go to every 6-8 weeks. I suggest reading what you can (I actually had my husband read everything, I didn't want to make up any side effects in my head) and ask lots of questions...

    Good luck!!
