Hi, Lisa,

Your post points out the need for us to educate ourselves on all things medical that may affect us, and adocate for ourselves.  Seems as though the responses you received are all over the place.  I chose to have the flu shot and pneumonia vaccine on my own.  Neither one of my doctors said anything about vaccinations.  Seems like the docs may need to be educated...???

Thanks!

thanks for this - I definitely needed to hear some of this information. I'm one of the people who answered your survey and the results were very interesting. I don't get the flu vaccine because I'm allergic to eggs, but am talking to my doctor about getting pneumonia and DT&P. I'm pretty leery, though - I've never had a pneumonia vaccine before and my last tetanus shot was a very long time ago when I was in better health than I am now, did not have fibromyalgia and was not on an immunosuppressant. Those three factors make me worry. Your post gave me more sources of information and research that can help me make a decision.
