Thanks for this, Lisa. I've often wondered about the effect of RA and meds on the ability to give blood and this begins to answer the question. I've received blood many times myself during surgeries and know just how important donating can be.

 

One thing: did you mean to say that one should "avoid strenuous physical activity or heavy lifting for about five years after donation"? Wink
