I love books and libraries are some of my favorite places. I'm very eclectic in my approach to reading material. I have a number of nonfiction books that I would love to read, but fiction has always been my first love. There's nothing better than diving into another world. These days, I do so much work in nonfiction throughout the day that when I do dive into another world, it's often trashy paranormal romances. They're wonderfully relaxing. I do try to read other books but the place I go to relax and on stress is definitely less literary.
Right now I'm reading "A Plague of Doves" on my kindle and "The Hour I First Believed" in a paperback. I just finished Lene's book, "Your Life with Rheumatoid Arthritis" and enjoyed it very much - wish that someone had given me that book when I was first diagnosed!
Reading is a quiet activity that I can engage in while resting. More active for my mind than most TV. I can chose a chapter or two while I rest between chores. I've always been an avid reader and I just acquired the kindle - tell me, can I lend books to someone else with my kindle?
Hi Lisa,
My wife and I are true library junkies! We used to purchase books, but found the library in the town we lived in many years ago, and have been hooked since! I enjoy searching for a good book in the stacks, Laurie is always on wait lists for the newest releases. There is even a national library lending service now, to get books not available at our local branch. Ebooks, CDs, DVDs etc are all available. When we travel we take out books on CD to listen to enroute. We really enjoy going there (Laurie even volunteers there). Thank you for a great post! Get the word (or book) out!

Forgot to add, I enjoy some Sci-Fi, but mostly adventure type books. I also REALLY like to read the classics. If you have never read the originals like Dracula, 20,000 leagues under the sea, etc, they are really worth it! And the classics are generally available for free online or the library for your Ereader. I keep changing back and forth from my Tablet, to my Kindle to my smart phone, I love how they all sync so whatever you pick up, you are always on the right page. Currently I have a really good book loaded on my Tablet.......... you may know the author, Lene Andersen? Great book on RA, available on Amazon.com. (yes, that was a shameless push on her book!LOL)
