Friday afternoon my nose started running. On Saturday the fever hit. My fourteen-year-old went though this a week ago, so I knew what was in store. I called in a week of sick days, not only for myself, but for my eleven-year old whose symptoms mirrored my own.   &nb...

I was wondering what happens here - earlier today, I answered a question you had regarding whether you are having the flu or a flare. sorry to hear that your instincts were right, but I'm also glad you're doing the smart thing and staying home to heal - I'm not only does it prevent contagion from spreading, but it's probably also the best thing to do for yourself. Enjoy the juice and History Channel!  I hope you feel better soon.

debra, hello......i'm still laughing at your story!  isn't it funny that you're thinking that this horrible/deathly lethal swine flu is better than dealing with RA pain.  that just cracks me up!  i do very much hope you and your baby are better.  it is nice to get to spend some quality time with one child at a time.....even if it's being sick together!  you are a great writer......melanie

Thanks for sharing your story. It helps calm the fears generated by the media. Swine flu is running pretty strong in Washington state right now. My son had it a week ago. The symptoms were pretty mild. About 2 days of mild fever (never over 101), coughing, come tiredness. But I knew it wasn't bad when on night in the middle of it he ate four pieces of pizza!

Still can't get vaccine around here but figured I was already exposed!

    Hope you're feeling better.
