Just thought I'd share my confusion to see if anyone else has been where I am.

Four years ago I began to have foot pain.  It has gotten much worse since then.  I went to the doctors last week and they ran blood tests.  The doctor also began me on Prednisone and said that he would follow up with RA meds.  But, a couple of days later, the nurse called to tell me that the tests were negative.  So.......today I went back and my doctor put me on something for my thyroid (underactive) and asked how my arthritis was?  I said "I thought I didn't HAVE arthritis?  Didn't the tests come back negative?  To which he told me that many times it NEVER shows up in bloodwork and began me on Plaquenil and said that he may up my Prednisone dosage in two weeks once I've finished my present dose.

So....I have it, I don't have it?  I have no idea.  What I DO know is that the pain has been greatly interfering with my life and makes me so miserable.  And I am SO glad that he is trying to help me.

Has anyone else been treated when tests came back negative?
